“Rock the YOGA WHEEL”

britt_jess_logoThe yoga what?  If you are curious to find out what the heck a yoga wheel and how it can change your life or you just want to know what can be done besides rolling around on it. These workshops you will teach you how this prop can provide support, strength, and even challenge in your practice.

You may want your very own Shakti Yoga Wheel, to play around on, but if not, there is still huge benefit in joining in a workshop. Jessyca and Elena will demonstrate how the yoga wheel provides different stretches, and may have different uses throughout the body. They will also teach all safety precautions for the student to have an all-around knowledge on how to use this great athletic tool.

You can choose to come to either one or both days of this workshop.

Saturday, October 8th 2016 2.00-4.00pm – “Back bends & Hip openers”

The Shakti Yoga Wheel makes a back bending and hip opening practice playful, easy and effortless! This workshop will lead you through a wonderful heart opening experience as well as releasing tight hips!

Sunday, October 9th 2016 11.00-1.00pm – “Arm balances & Inversions”

In this fun-filled workshop we will look at how to challenge new muscles in familiar asana, find new steadiness in balance poses, side bends, arm balances and inversions, such as handstands, forearm stand, Crow/Crane all while using the Yoga Wheel.

These workshops will include also include relaxation, meditation, and breathing techniques.

You will experience a full rounded yoga class leaving feeling free spirited, light hearted, blissful, and receptive. By the end you will know how to do more than roll around and deepen your backbends, finding the yoga wheel an invaluable new tool for your practice.

During the workshops there will be Shakti Yoga Wheels available (limited numbers). If you already own a yoga wheel please bring it to the workshop.

Please note:

  • All levels are welcome – we recommend a regular yoga practice for at least 6 month
  • As we will explore some poses that put pressure on the abdomen please be sure to eat early enough (at least two hours before the workshop begin) to let your food digest.
  • The workshops are also recommended for women in pregnancy. As this is depending on the semester we advise to focus on the first workshop “Backbends & Hip openers”. You will find helpful postures to support your pregnancy or breast feeding.
